Task force for strike drones
US Central Command announced the creation of Task Force Falcon Strike in August. CENTCOM described it as the first multinational, multidomain task force designed to employ strike drones.
On August 13, the command said that US and allied militaries would use one-way strike drones and uncrewed systems in the air, on the sea surface and underwater. Bahrain’s commitment comes amid efforts by the United States and regional partners to strengthen defense coordination in the Persian Gulf.
In July, Manama hosted a security dialogue involving 12 countries, where defense cooperation and freedom of navigation through the Strait of Hormuz were discussed.
