Ben-Gvir presents plan to relocate Gaza residents abroad
Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir on September 3 presented a plan that envisages Palestinians leaving the Gaza Strip for other countries. Asharq Al-Awsat reports.
A seven-year plan
Speaking ahead of tense elections in Israel, Ben-Gvir said that 250,000 Palestinians should leave Gaza in the first year of the plan’s implementation. Under his proposal, the remaining approximately two million residents of the enclave should leave over the following six years.

The minister called the plan realistic. He also said that there are countries ready to receive Gaza residents, but did not name them.
Assessment of forced displacement
The Asharq Al-Awsat report notes that the forced displacement of civilians in occupied territory is considered a war crime under the Geneva Conventions.
