Conflict background

The fire occurred amid an intensifying confrontation between Saudi Arabia and Yemen's Houthis, whom the publication describes as linked to Iran. According to The Jerusalem Post, the group has stepped up attacks on Saudi cities and energy infrastructure.

Last week, the Houthis said they had attacked Saudi Aramco facilities in Yanbu with missiles and drones. Saudi Arabia then reported intercepting six ballistic missiles launched by the Houthis toward Taif and the Yanbu area, but did not report damage to Aramco facilities.
