Most U.S. voters believe a war with Iran is not worth the cost

Most American voters believe that Donald Trump's war in Iran was not worth the cost. A nationwide poll showed that 58% of registered voters share this view regarding the appropriateness of the funds allocated. This is according to a study by Focaldata.

At the same time, 44% of voters said the war has weakened the U.S. position in its relations with Iran, while 31% believe the conflict has strengthened Washington’s position. In addition, the White House has already asked Congress to approve $67 billion in new federal spending to cover the costs of the war incurred to date. Against this backdrop, Donald Trump is facing growing criticism at home—particularly from his fellow Republicans—regarding his approach to the conflict in the Middle East.

At the same time, a poll gauged public sentiment regarding international alliances. Specifically, 53% of voters believe the U.S. should remain a member of NATO, while 23% are convinced the country should withdraw from it. A fragile truce currently remains in place between the U.S. and Iran.
