The British government has temporarily recalled staff from its embassy in Iran due to the deteriorating security situation in the region. Officials in London stated that the decision was made after receiving new information regarding rising tensions.
This announcement came as the U.S. carried out strikes against Iran for 11 consecutive nights.
According to the British government, the country’s embassy in Iran will continue to operate remotely.

The British counterterrorism police stated that former Member of Parliament and minister Anne Widdecombe died as a result of a targeted attack.
Former British Member of Parliament Anne Widdecombe was found dead in her own home. Police have already opened a murder investigation and arrested a 26-year-old suspect. At this time, law enforcement does not believe the crime was politically motivated or related to terrorism.
