U.S. Secretary of State Calls Cuba a Threat to National Security — BBC

U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio has officially stated that the Cuban regime poses a direct threat to U.S. national security

This was reported by the BBC.

At the same time, the chances of reaching any peace agreement between Washington and Havana are currently extremely low.

Against the backdrop of a rapid deterioration in bilateral relations, the U.S. side emphasizes its readiness to vigorously defend its geopolitical interests in the region.

The head of the U.S. State Department emphasized that diplomatic tools remain a priority for Washington in resolving the Cuban issue.

However, he clearly emphasized President Donald Trump’s right and obligation to respond firmly to any challenges that threaten the security of the United States.

The White House’s position indicates a readiness to employ the full range of possible deterrents in the event of further escalation by Havana.

During his speech, Marco Rubio openly called Cuba the main sponsor of terrorism in the region. Havana’s reaction to these words was immediate. The Cuban government officially accused the senior U.S. official of lying.

Representatives of the Cuban regime stated that such rhetoric from the White House is a deliberate attempt to provoke direct military aggression against the island.

Trump announced possible U.S. intervention in Cuba’s affairs

As a reminder, Cuba restored its power grid after a massive blackout.

Trump also confirmed the U.S. intention to intervene in Cuba.
