David Beckham Becomes the First British Athlete to Become a Billionaire — BBC
Former England national soccer team captain David Beckham has made his debut on the list of British billionaire athletes.
The BBC reported this, citing The Sunday Times Rich List 2026.
According to the list’s compilers, the combined net worth of David and Victoria Beckham has reached £1.185 billion. This makes Beckham the first British athlete whose net worth has surpassed the £1 billion mark.
In the ranking of the wealthiest figures in sports, the Beckham family took second place. The family of former Formula 1 boss Bernie Ecclestone remains in the lead with a fortune of about £2 billion.
The 51-year-old Beckham is currently a co-owner of the American soccer club Inter Miami, which is considered the most valuable franchise in Major League Soccer, valued at $1.45 billion.
A significant portion of Beckham’s income also comes from advertising contracts, including partnerships with Adidas and Hugo Boss.
His wife, Victoria Beckham, a former member of the Spice Girls, runs her own fashion brand, which is also a major part of the family’s wealth.
