A former official of the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade was arrested in connection with a case involving the embezzlement of millions
On July 30 in Moscow, Alla Polovchenya, deputy head of the Department of Unmanned Systems and Robotics at the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade, was detained. Russian law enforcement officials suspect the official of embezzling public funds on an exceptionally large scale.
At the request of investigators, the Meshchansky District Court of Moscow remanded the official in custody for two months.
It is noted that Katerina Kustova, deputy director of development at the Efko Group, and Vladislav Romantsev, director of development at the group’s management company, were detained along with Polovchenya. They are charged with fraud on an exceptionally large scale. The Meshchansky District Court also remanded both of them into custody.
The criminal case is related to the implementation of the “Transport of the Future” project to develop unmanned aerial systems. Earlier in the same case, the company’s CEO and former advisor to the governor of the Samara Region, Yuri Kozarenko, was arrested.
“Yesterday, law enforcement agencies detained Alla Polovchenya, deputy head of the Department of Unmanned Systems and Robotics at Russia’s Ministry of Industry and Trade. The ministry is cooperating with the investigation,” the Ministry of Industry and Trade reported.
The press service of the Efko Group noted that on July 30, it became known that several company employees had been detained.
As a reminder, the National Police concluded the nationwide special operation “Gentlemen-2026,” during which law enforcement officers conducted 435 searches in 23 regions of Ukraine and Kyiv, dismantled 12 underground drug laboratories, and detained 34 people.
Law enforcement officers exposed a group of four residents of the Kirovohrad and Odesa regions who are suspected of embezzling over 3.2 million hryvnias from a Ukrainian bank.
