Everland in South Korea opens autumn festival with safari and zombie show
Everland, South Korea's largest theme park in the city of Yongin, has opened an autumn festival that will run from September 12 to November 22. The program includes a walking route through the savanna among animals, a large-scale zombie horror show, and preparations for the first public appearance of giant panda cub Shu Bao, The Korea Herald reports.
Safari on foot
The new Wild Savanna Expedition route stretches for about one kilometer through the Lost Valley area. It is home to 15 animal species, including elephants, rhinoceroses, giraffes, lions and hyenas. Visitors can walk past seven giraffes that were previously visible only from safari vehicle windows.
The route also includes the River Trail pontoon path, for which access previously required a separate fee. The program was created after a month-long spring test of Walking Safari, which, according to the park, attracted about 350,000 visitors. Keepers tell participants about animal behavior and conservation, while one of the caves has been turned into an environmental classroom. At the end of the route, visitors receive an explorer certificate.

Zombies and missions
The Blood City horror zone marks its 10th anniversary this year. According to Everland, it has been visited by more than 10 million people over that time. The new version of the project is called Blood City Zero and was created with the participation of director Lee Seok-hoon, known for the films “The Pirates” and “Confidential Assignment 2: International.”
Visitors, acting as White Z agents, carry out escape missions in five themed zones, where dozens of actors interact with them. Those who collect all mission completion stamps will receive priority boarding for the Monimo Rush attraction, which in the storyline is a survival train. Performances take place daily from 4 p.m. until night.
Panda debut
Giant panda cub Shu Bao, the fourth cub of panda Ai Bao, has turned 106 days old and weighs nearly six kilograms. According to keeper Kang Cheol-won, the panda has already developed canine teeth, while her pink nose is gradually darkening. Shu Bao will be shown to visitors when she can confidently walk behind her mother. Kang suggested that this could happen by the end of the year.
