Fico will travel to Moscow for the May 9 parade — Kremlin
The Kremlin has confirmed that Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico plans to visit Moscow and attend the military parade on May 9.
This was stated by Russian Presidential Aide Yuri Ushakov, citing Russian media reports.
Ushakov confirmed to journalists that Fico would join the “Victory Day parade” in Moscow “among foreign guests.” He did not specify who else, besides the Slovak prime minister, would visit Russia on May 9.
“There’s a lot of talk about Fico, so I can confirm that regarding Fico,” Ushakov replied to journalists’ questions.
We previously reported that Ficohad declined to attend the May 9 parade in Moscow despite his visit to Russia.
Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico stated that the release of a 90-billion-euro EU loan for Ukraine is taking place in parallel with the resumption of oil supplies via the Druzhba pipeline, and that these processes are interrelated.
EU ambassadors approved a €90 billion loan for Ukraine and also agreed on the 20th package of sanctions against Russia.
The European Commission has finalized the key elements of a €90 billion financial support package for Ukraine for 2026–2027. The first tranche is expected to be disbursed as early as the second quarter of this year.
Von der Leyen assured that Ukraine will receive the loan from the EU.
