Spain's Foreign Minister announced his intention to return all migrants from Ceuta
During a visit to Ceuta, Spanish Foreign Minister José Manuel Albares stated that all individuals who crossed the border into the Spanish enclave irregularly are scheduled to be returned. According to The Guardian, he said that Madrid is engaged in direct dialogue with Moroccan authorities to prevent a new border crisis.
Albares appealed to migrants who may be planning another attempt to cross the border, urging them not to risk their lives, money, or futures. He emphasized that people who entered irregularly will not be able to reach the mainland or remain in Ceuta.

The Spanish foreign minister also dismissed as false reports on social media, which he said were based on a misinterpretation of a recent court ruling. He noted that entering Ceuta or Melilla does not grant the right to remain there. Albares stated that no one had left Ceuta for the mainland, and that diplomatic efforts with Morocco are aimed at returning everyone who crossed the border irregularly.
Ceuta President Juan Jesús Vivas, following a meeting with the minister, reported that, according to his estimate, up to 10,000 people remain in the city. He supported the commitment to return all individuals to Morocco but noted that there is no guaranteed timeline for this. The European Commission stated that it could provide Spain with additional assistance upon request and is working with online platforms to combat networks that make false promises to migrants.
