Intel to help introduce AI and STEM in Israeli schools — Jerusalem Post

Israel’s Ministry of Education and the US technology corporation Intel signed an agreement in New York, United States, to develop STEM education and introduce artificial intelligence in Israeli schools. This was reported by the Jerusalem Post, citing a joint statement by the office of the prime minister and Israel’s Ministry of Education.

Mentorship for students and educators

Under the program, Intel employees will mentor students and educators in artificial intelligence and STEM — science, technology, engineering and mathematics. The parties also plan to integrate artificial intelligence into technology education programs, provide mentorship for teachers and schoolchildren, and expand joint activities in schools and local authorities.

The agreement was signed on Thursday in New York in the presence of Israeli Prime Minister’s wife Sara Netanyahu, Education Minister Yoav Kisch, White House representatives and Intel executives.

Student projects to be presented at Intel festival

Four projects by Israeli students that won the national STARTCUP competition last year will be showcased at Intel’s global artificial intelligence festival. According to the company, future technology specialists and developers from 35 countries take part in the event.

The initiative also provides for the development of digital literacy and online safety. Its participants said they seek to help children in the digital age and provide parents with tools to protect children from risks on the internet.
