LX Pantos delivered 11.2 million eggs to South Korea
Logistics company LX Pantos has delivered 11.2 million fresh eggs from the United States and Thailand to South Korea by air since mid-June. The company used 10 charter cargo aircraft for the shipments, Korea Herald reports.
The total weight of the deliveries amounted to 800 metric tons. During the latest operation, two Boeing 747 cargo aircraft departed from Los Angeles International Airport, while unloading and delivery of the cargo were completed at Incheon Airport on Friday.
Stabilizing egg supplies
Air transportation is part of government measures to stabilize egg supplies disrupted by avian influenza and other factors. South Korea’s Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs has expanded imports and domestic distribution of the products through the Korea Agro-Fisheries & Food Trade Corporation.

Transporting perishable cargo
LX Pantos coordinated the work of producers and airlines in the United States and Thailand in real time to reduce transportation time and preserve the freshness of the products. The company said it maintained the required temperature conditions throughout the delivery and also used special packaging and loading methods to reduce the risk of egg damage.
The carrier holds the International Air Transport Association’s CEIV Fresh certification for air transport of perishable goods, as well as CEIV Pharma certification for transporting pharmaceutical cargo. The company said it is preparing to transport additional batches of imported eggs as part of the government’s supply stabilization program.
