French President Emmanuel Macron has invited his American counterpart, Donald Trump, to a lavish dinner at the Palace of Versailles the day after the G7 summit, which is scheduled for mid-June.

Reuters reported this, citing informed sources.

As is known, France is hosting this year’s G7 summit, scheduled for June 15–17 in the resort town of Evian-les-Bains.

According to sources, Macron even changed the summit dates to accommodate the mixed martial arts tournament that Donald Trump is organizing at the White House on June 14—his 80th birthday.

It is currently unknown whether the U.S. president will attend the G7 summit or the dinner at Versailles. According to sources, Macron has not invited any other G7 leader to this event.

A White House official confirmed the invitation from the French president.

“(Macron) really wants him (Trump) to go, he’s begging him to go,” the official said.

As a reminder, during his trip to Asia, French President Emmanuel Macron called on the world to unite and not depend on either the U.S. or China. He emphasized the importance of international cooperation on security, energy, and technology.

French President Emmanuel Macron also mentioned the possibility of partnering with South Korea to stabilize the situation in the Strait of Hormuz. According to him, such cooperation will only be possible after the bombing in the region stops.

Macron respondedto Trump’s criticism of France’s role in the war with Iran.

U.S. President Donald Trump reacted sharply to France’s decision to close its airspace to American aircraft carrying military cargo. The planes were headed to Israel, but France did not allow them to fly over its territory.

Trump commented onthe possibility of redirecting weapons intended for Ukraine to the Middle East.
