Mauritius did not allow flight from Israel to land — Jerusalem Post

Mauritian authorities did not grant permission for an Air Seychelles aircraft that was due to arrive from Israel on Saturday to land, resulting in the flight being cancelled. This was reported by the Jerusalem Post, citing the travel company Spirit World Productions.

Landing permission was not granted

Spirit World Productions said that the company had tried to obtain permission overnight, but Mauritian authorities did not change their decision. Due to the lack of such permission, Air Seychelles announced the cancellation of the flight to Mauritius.

The travel company suggested that the decision may have been driven by political considerations. This assessment was not presented as a confirmed position of the Mauritian authorities.

Tali Yativ, CEO and owner of Spirit World Productions, said that the company was saddened and disappointed by the refusal to approve the landing of the aircraft from Israel. According to her, the decision directly affected Israeli passengers who have no connection to political decisions.

Yativ added that the company had tried until the last moment to ensure the departure went ahead as scheduled. She also reported that it was working with passengers and Air Seychelles to obtain the necessary information on further assistance.
