Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk stated that there is currently no reason to believe that the Russian cruise missile that fell in the Lublin Voivodeship was specifically targeting Polish territory.
Tusk visited the crash site of the object that violated Polish airspace and confirmed preliminary conclusions that it was most likely a Russian Kh-101 cruise missile.
“There is no reason to believe that Poland was the target,” the Polish prime minister emphasized.
At the same time, he stated that Russia “will do everything possible to shift the blame away from itself” for the incident.
According to Tusk, the United States is also interested in participating in the investigation into the nighttime violation of Polish airspace.
The prime minister stressed that the government is committed to maximum transparency during the investigation. He noted that Russia’s war against Ukraine is creating new threats, so Poland must quickly adapt to such challenges and respond to them in a timely manner.
