Dozens of protests against Netanyahu’s government held in northern Israel
Dozens of demonstrations against the government of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu took place in northern areas of Israel on Saturday. Participants also protested against the controversial judicial reform, Anadolu Agency reports.
Actions in several cities
According to the Maariv newspaper, protesters gathered at dozens of locations. Channel 12 reported demonstrations in Nahariya, Rosh Pinna, Karmiel, Hadera and Haifa.
Netanyahu’s government launched the judicial reform in early 2023. It was intended to limit the powers of the Supreme Court and strengthen political influence over the appointment of judges. The initiative triggered months of mass protests.

Demands for an investigation into the attacks
Opposition parties and part of Israeli society also demand the creation of a state commission to investigate failures related to Hamas attacks in October 2023. Netanyahu’s government rejected these demands.
Netanyahu is also on trial on corruption charges. In November 2024, the International Criminal Court issued an arrest warrant for him on charges of war crimes and crimes against humanity in the Gaza Strip.
