Iran's new supreme leader has threatened revenge for his father's death — Reuters

Iran’s new Supreme Leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, stated that revenge for the death of his father, former Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, is a “duty” and will be carried out.

In a statement released during Ali Khamenei’s funeral ceremony, he vowed to punish those responsible for his death and emphasized that they “will not die a peaceful death.”

At the same time, Mojtaba Khamenei’s whereabouts remain unknown. According to media reports, he has not appeared in public since his appointment as Supreme Leader, raising questions among both analysts and the Iranian public.

According to Reuters, one possible reason could be security concerns and reports that the new leader was allegedly wounded during U.S.-Israeli strikes. There is no official confirmation of this information.

Experts note that the Supreme Leader’s prolonged absence from public view could complicate the process of consolidating power in Iran amid war, economic problems, and internal instability.
