Poland evacuated two border crossings on its border with Ukraine due to attacks by the Russian Federation

Poland evacuated people from the “Dorohusk” and “Zosin” border crossing points due to Russian missile strikes on Ukraine near the border. This was announced by Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk.

Emergency security measures were implemented at the border immediately during international talks in Warsaw. Donald Tusk emphasized that such situations confirm Russia’s aggressive actions and compel Poland to act consistently, cooperate with Ukraine, and warn the European Union about the critical months ahead in the fall and winter.

Earlier, Poland placed six border crossing points on the border with Ukraine on high alert. Military personnel were deployed to the border crossing points, and additional security measures were introduced to ensure a quicker evacuation of people in the event of a threat.

On Wednesday, September 23, a Russian Mi-8 military helicopter violated Polish airspace, flying in from the Kaliningrad region. The Russian aircraft remained in Polish airspace for 42 seconds.
