Poland would lose its statehood within a few days in the event of a war with Russia, says Patrushev
Russian Presidential Aide Nikolai Patrushev stated that Moscow is allegedly prepared to use “its entire arsenal” of forces and resources against Poland if Warsaw enters into a military conflict with Russia. According to him, in such a case, Polish statehood could cease to exist within a few days.
“If Poland engages in military action against Russia, our country will deploy its entire arsenal of forces and resources, and the Polish state will cease to exist within two or three days,” he said.
The Russian official also commented on statements made by Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski regarding the countries’ military capabilities.
According to Patrushev, the Polish foreign minister is allegedly underestimating Russia’s military capabilities.
“The head of Polish diplomacy is clearly making an amateurish assessment of our country’s military might, unwilling to understand that during a special military operation, the Russian armed forces do not use their full potential,” he said.
At the same time, Patrushev reiterated the Russian government’s standard claim that there is allegedly no threat to European countries.
He claimed that the Polish authorities allegedly “do not want to hear” Vladimir Putin’s words about Russia having no intention of going to war with Europe.
Thus, against the backdrop of threats directed at Poland, the Russian official simultaneously denies Moscow’s intentions to wage war against European states.
Patrushev made these remarks in an interview with Russian media.
The Polish Ministry of the Interior has launched a television campaign to explain to citizens how to act during emergencies, including natural disasters and security threats. It includes segments on TVP1 and on the morning show *Pytanie na śniadanie* on TVP2.
Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski stated that the country plans to become increasingly better prepared for possible provocations from Russia.
As a reminder, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated: Russia, as an aggressor state, will face a response if it launches attacks on Ukraine’s energy system this winter.
