Albanian Prime Minister Urges People Not to Criticize Zelenskyy Over Kosovo
Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama called on Albanians to stop criticizing Ukraine over President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s stance on Kosovo’s independence.
Rama criticized nationalists in Tirana and Pristina who have begun calling for a reduction in support for Ukraine due to Zelenskyy’s statements.
According to him, Albania will not withdraw its support for Kyiv because of disagreements over Kosovo. He emphasized that supporting Ukraine in its confrontation with Russian aggression is not a “quid pro quo.”
Rama acknowledged that, in his opinion, Ukraine is mistaken on the issue of Kosovo; however, this does not negate the Ukrainians’ right to freedom and protection from aggression.
The prime minister stated that Albania will continue to support Ukraine, as it considers the struggle for freedom and a just peace to be part of the struggle for Europe.

Ukraine and Albania have signed an agreement on international road transport, which provides for the immediate liberalization of freight traffic between the two countries. In Albania, anti-corruption prosecutors have launched an investigation into a large-scale project to build a luxury tourist resort. The initiative is linked to the investment company Affinity Partners, headed by Jared Kushner — the son-in-law of U.S. President Donald Trump. Law enforcement officials are investigating possible violations during the project’s planning and implementation.
