Chinese President Xi Jinping will pay a state visit to the United States on September 23–25 at the invitation of U.S. President Donald Trump. This was stated by Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun, ECNS reports.

During the visit, Xi Jinping and Donald Trump will hold an in-depth exchange of views on key issues in China-U.S. relations, as well as peace and development in the world. According to Guo Jiakun, he announced this at a regular briefing of the Chinese Foreign Ministry.

Chinese Foreign Ministry statement
The Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson stated that head-of-state diplomacy plays an indispensable role in providing strategic guidance for relations between China and the United States. He also called the exchange of visits by the two leaders within six months a historic milestone.
China, according to Guo Jiakun, is ready to work with the United States to imbue constructive relations with strategic stability, strengthen dialogue and cooperation, and properly manage differences. Beijing also stated its intention to promote the well-being of the peoples of both countries, global peace, stability, and prosperity.
