The President of Ukraine met with Trump on the sidelines of the G7 summit — Reuters
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy entered the meeting room for the first session of the G7 summit alongside U.S. President Donald Trump and French President Emmanuel Macron.
The main goal of this working session is to coordinate the efforts of international partners regarding further security and financial assistance to Ukraine.
International leaders have already taken their seats at the negotiating table, and the strategic discussion itself is currently taking place behind closed doors, with no press access.
The first working session of the high-level summit is entirely devoted to the Ukrainian issue and countering Russian military aggression.
At this point, it remains unknown whether a separate bilateral conversation took place between Donald Trump and Volodymyr Zelenskyy immediately before the official start of the plenary session.
This is reported by the Reuters news agency.
Zelenskyy will travel to the G7 summit from Chisinau, not from Poland
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that Ukraine has requested a meeting with Vladimir Putin during the G7 summit, which will take place June 15–17 in the French city of Evian-les-Bains.
Ukrainian air defense forces were able to effectively intercept Russian ballistic missiles during a nighttime attack thanks to a recently delivered military aid package.
