Wildberries sellers reported a delay in payments totaling 20 billion rubles
Sellers on the Russian marketplace Wildberries have stated that the company is withholding payments for goods already sold, totaling approximately 20 billion rubles. The Union of Marketplace Sellers (SPM) has appealed to the Russian government to take control of the payments and help return the money to the sellers.
The SPM president sent a letter to this effect to Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin. The letter notes that sellers have still not received payment for sales made during the last week of July, even though, according to the regulations, the payments were supposed to be made by August 26.
Wildberries attributed the delays to DDoS attacks on the “Seller Balance” system. According to company representatives, security mechanisms temporarily suspend the processing of certain fund transfer transactions, which is why withdrawal requests may take longer than usual to process.
The company assured that sellers’ funds are secure and will be transferred once the necessary technical procedures are completed.
At the same time, GoOmni Director Yefim Aldukhov noted that in August, most payments to sellers were received within 10–14 days instead of the seven days stipulated by the regulations. According to him, the marketplace has not processed any withdrawal requests over the past 14 days.
Delays in payments create additional financial difficulties for sellers who depend on timely receipt of revenue from goods sold through the platform.
Ukraine has put 80% of Wildberries’ largest warehouses in Russia out of commission.
On the night of August 26, drones launched a second attack on the Wildberries logistics center in Kotovsk, Tambov Oblast, Russia, after which a massive fire broke out at the facility. According to Russian authorities, the fire covered an area of at least 40,000 square meters, and one employee was injured.
Ukrainian drones simultaneously attacked a Lukoil oil refinery and a Wildberries warehouse in Russia.
As a reminder, the Orsk oil refinery in the Orenburg region of the Russian Federation completely halted operations following an attack by Ukrainian drones.
