Trump's approval rating has fallen to a record low following the war with Iran

Trump's approval rating has fallen to a record low following the war with Iran

Support for U.S. President Donald Trump among Americans has fallen to its lowest level since the start of his second term amid the war with Iran.

According to a survey, Donald Trump’s approval rating stands at just 34%, the lowest figure since the start of his second term.

At the same time, Americans are critical of the consequences of the conflict with Iran. Only 24% of those surveyed believe the war justified the financial and other costs incurred by the U.S., while 50% are convinced that the conflict was not worth the losses and resources expended.

The poll results also reveal citizens’ skepticism regarding the war’s foreign policy outcomes.

Only 23% of Americans—about half of whom are Republican Party supporters—believe that the U.S. position on Iran has strengthened since the conflict.

In contrast, 35% of respondents stated that Washington’s geopolitical position has weakened. The remaining respondents were either undecided or believe that the situation has not changed significantly.

Following the signing of new agreements between the parties, the majority of U.S. citizens do not believe in the prospect of a stable peace.

In particular, 63% of those surveyed believe it is unlikely that the agreement signed by Donald Trump will ensure a long-term resolution of relations with Iran.

Half of Republicans and about 80% of Democrats share this view.

At the same time, only 18% of Americans are convinced that the agreements reached can ensure lasting peace between Washington and Tehran.

The Reuters/Ipsos poll lasted five days and concluded on June 22, 2026.

The survey included 1,262 American adults from all U.S. states, and the margin of error for the results is 3 percentage points.

The data shows that the war with Iran has become one of the key factors behind the decline in support for Donald Trump and has heightened Americans’ doubts about the effectiveness of the current administration’s foreign policy.

This is evidenced by the results of an Ipsos poll, according to Reuters.

Previously, U.S. President Donald Trump’s approval rating among Americans had fallen to nearly its lowest level since his return to the White House.

The day before, U.S. President Donald Trump announced significant progress in negotiations with Tehran, noting that as part of a potential agreement, Iran could transfer its highly enriched uranium to the United States.

At the same time, Trump once again repeated the threats he has been making in recent weeks: “If they agree, it’s over; if not, we’ll bomb them.”

Official Tehran refused to participate in the second round of peace talks with the United States, which were to take place in Islamabad.
