A Russian aircraft may have violated Finnish airspace

The Finnish Ministry of Defense suspects a Russian aircraft of a possible violation of the country’s airspace. The incident occurred on August 20 in the western part of the Gulf of Finland, and the Finnish Border Guard is investigating the circumstances.

 

Finnish Defense Minister Antti Hykkänen announced this in a statement.

According to the Ministry of Defense, the incident occurred on Thursday, August 20, in the western part of the Gulf of Finland.

“Every potential airspace violation is taken seriously. The investigation is ongoing,” Hykkänen emphasized.

However, the statement did not specify the exact type of aircraft involved.

The Border Guard is investigating the incident and will provide more details as the investigation progresses.
