Romania has stated that Ukraine has lost control of four maritime drones
The Romanian government reported that Ukraine had lost control of four maritime drones in the Black Sea. One of them exploded in the port of Constanța.
According to Romanian authorities, after the drone was detected on the morning of June 5, the Romanian Ministry of National Defense contacted the Ukrainian side to clarify the circumstances of the incident.
Ukrainian representatives confirmed that control over the four maritime drones had been lost.
One of the drones exploded within the port of Constanta. The other three drones self-destructed: two in the Black Sea, and one outside the port.
Bucharest stated that the information about the incidents was confirmed both by the Ukrainian side and by data obtained by Romanian services.
Following the incident, Romanian authorities requested that Ukraine promptly report any similar incidents that could pose a potential threat to Romania’s security.
There is currently no information regarding casualties or significant damage resulting from the explosion in the port of Constanta.
