Israeli PM Netanyahu’s son urgently evacuated from US over threat
Yair Netanyahu, the eldest son of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, was urgently transported from the United States to Israel due to a threat to his life. This was reported by Al Jazeera English, citing Israel’s Shin Bet internal security service.
Shin Bet’s decision
In a statement, Shin Bet said there was a “significant threat to harm Yair Netanyahu.” After assessing the situation, the service decided to immediately evacuate him together with his security team and return him to Israel. The Israeli security service did not specify the origin of the threat.
US television channel Newsmax previously reported that last December, Yair Netanyahu, who was living in Florida at the time, was allegedly the target of an Iranian assassination plot. Citing an unnamed US law enforcement official, the channel claimed that Israeli intelligence informed US authorities when it learned of the alleged plan.

The report came after Benjamin Netanyahu’s interview with Israel’s Channel 14. The prime minister said that Iran had targeted one of his sons and tried to kill him.
According to Newsmax, Yair Netanyahu was ordered to immediately leave the area where he was staying. He returned to Israel without taking his personal belongings. He had lived in Florida for several years and was constantly accompanied by an Israeli security team.
Yair Netanyahu is a right-wing activist and podcaster. He actively comments on Israeli politics on social media, including by criticizing his father’s political opponents, government critics, and journalists.
