The U.S. has reinstated oil sanctions against Russia
The U.S. has once again imposed sanctions against the Russian oil companies Rosneft and Lukoil, which had been temporarily suspended due to the situation surrounding the Strait of Hormuz.
This was announced by Vladislav Vlasyuk, the President of Ukraine’s Representative for Sanctions Policy.
According to him, U.S. oil sanctions against Rosneft and Lukoil have come back into effect following the expiration of the temporary exemptions.

As a reminder, at a summit in Brussels on June 18, the European Union decided for the first time to extend sanctions against Russia not for the standard six months, but for a full year. In doing so, the EU is moving away from its previous practice of regularly reviewing sanctions every six months.
The EU Council is expected to officially approve the new sanctions package in the coming weeks, according to Deutsche Welle.
