Trump Arrives in France for the G7 Summit – Le Monde

U.S. President Donald Trump on June 15 has arrived in the French city of Évian-les-Bains to attend the G7 summit. The G7 leaders’ meeting will take place June 15–17 under France’s chairmanship. Among the summit’s main topics are support for Ukraine, international security issues, and global geopolitical challenges.

 

According to French officials, the U.S. president headed to the Royal Hotel, where the summit is being held, upon his arrival.

“I’m very happy to be here,” Trump said on the porch of the hotel hosting the G7 leaders.

Accompanying the U.S. president to Evian were Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent.

Earlier in the afternoon, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer and Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney arrived in Evian. Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi, and German Chancellor Friedrich Merz are expected to arrive later.

According to the summit agenda, Trump is scheduled to hold a bilateral meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron on Monday. In the evening, there will be an official meeting of G7 leaders and a working dinner on the topic of a joint response to major international challenges.

This was reported by Le Monde, citing the Élysée Palace.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and the Ukrainian delegation will depart for the G7 summit in France from Chisinau Airport.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that Ukraine has requested a meeting with Vladimir Putin during the G7 summit, which will take place June 15–17 in the French city of Evian-les-Bains.
