Turkey wants to attract tourists by speeding up security checks

Turkey hopes to attract more foreign tourists by offering expedited border control, given the potential for delays at EU airports following the introduction of the new EES entry system.

This was reported by the Turkish Tourism Development and Promotion Agency.

The agency notes that modern airport infrastructure, an extensive network of international flights, and streamlined procedures allow tourists to quickly begin their vacation upon arrival.

Particular attention is being paid to direct flights to popular destinations, including Istanbul, Antalya, Izmir, Muğla Province, and Cappadocia.

Turkey also emphasized that Istanbul International Airport continues to increase passenger traffic. At the end of May, it set a record by handling 1,730 flights in a single day.

In the British town of Stourbridge, historic underground tunnels that are over 250 years old will be opened to visitors for the first time. After renovation, they will become part of a modern museum route that combines the history of glassmaking with the latest technologies.

Malaga, Spain, is imposing a three-year ban on the construction of new hotels and tourist apartments in residential areas. The new rules are set to take effect at the end of July 2026.
