Turkish ships conduct drills in the Indian Ocean

According to Anadolu Agency, Türkiye’s Ministry of National Defense said on September 12 that two Turkish naval ships conducted training drills in the Indian Ocean while deploying to Somalia. TCG Kemalreis and TCG Yzb. Gungor Durmus took part in the maneuvers.

Deployment to Somalia

The ministry stated that the ships are deploying to Somalia as part of the Somali Naval Task Group’s activities. The department named both vessels in its statement on the drills. According to the released information, the exercises took place specifically in the Indian Ocean.
