Tusk announces two-year project on governing the state during war — Interia

Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk, during the opening ceremony of the academic year at the War Studies University in Warsaw, announced a two-year project on governing the state amid an escalating armed conflict and war. As Interia reports, military personnel and government representatives are involved in the work on it.

Preparing for threats

Tusk said that the threat from the east is real, tangible and at times directly affects Poland. According to him, the war beyond Poland's border also concerns Poland to a large extent, so the country must be prepared for different scenarios.

The prime minister also said that the world is watching with admiration and disbelief how quickly Poland has become a regional power. He stated that, in his opinion, its strength is respected by both Poland's allies and its enemies.

Addressing the ceremony participants, Tusk noted that they are studying and developing projects that can already be used to strengthen deterrence against a possible attack on Poland.

Participation of government officials

Tusk called the project a program for governing the state amid an escalating armed conflict and war. He stressed that it was important to him to involve civilian officials responsible for the proper functioning of the state.

According to the prime minister, government officials can adopt practical organizational and legislative solutions that will strengthen the state's ability to respond in peacetime and amid a growing threat of armed conflict and war. The project's goal is to develop mechanisms that will enable all state institutions to act as a single, coordinated and responsible mechanism in the event of danger.

Tusk added that this requires knowledge, experience, training and a willingness to revise decisions that no longer correspond to the scale and dynamics of modern threats.
