The U.K. has warned that Russia is preparing for a large-scale escalation and attacks on NATO

The Kremlin is considering a drastic escalation of hostilities over the next six months and is preparing sabotage operations and hybrid attacks on NATO territory to force the West to halt military aid to Ukraine.

Michael Clarke, former director general of the Royal United Services Institute for Defense Studies, noted that to achieve his goals, Vladimir Putin plans to mobilize between 300,000 and 400,000 new soldiers, actively involve North Korean troops, and launch a large-scale campaign to intimidate Europe. According to U.S. intelligence, Russia may launch “Gerbera” drones from civilian vessels in the Mediterranean Sea to target infrastructure in Spain, France, or Italy, as well as intensify sabotage and cyberattacks.

The expert added that Moscow will also intensify its missile attacks against the civilian population of Ukraine, counting on Donald Trump not to intervene in the situation. According to the expert, armed clashes on the outskirts of NATO territory are possible in the near future to test the Alliance’s resolve.

Earlier, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that the Russian army could attack a NATO member country within the next five years. This would test the Alliance’s resilience.

Before meeting with an American delegation consisting of U.S. Special Envoy Steve Witkoff and Donald Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner, dictator Putin stated that Russia is allegedly ready to go to war with Europe but has no such intention.

In the event of a Russian attack on NATO members, the Alliance could launch a preemptive strike against targets on Russian territory, according to Admiral Rob Bauer, Chairman of the NATO Military Committee.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy considers it entirely possible that Russia could open a second front against another European country even before the war in Ukraine ends.
