Head of state educational institutions suspected of crimes in Finland
In Finland, Kaisa Tammi, the head of state educational institutions, is suspected of breaching official secrecy and defamation. As YLE News reports, the suspicions are being considered by the prosecutor for possible charges.
The suspicions are related to Tammi’s current work as head of state educational institutions. Details of the alleged offences have not been disclosed. Tammi confirmed that she is the subject of a criminal investigation, denied committing any crimes, and said she is awaiting the prosecutor’s decision.
Separate investigation in Oulu
Oulu police have also launched a pre-trial investigation related to state educational institutions. The head of the investigation, Timo Heikkinen, confirmed that proceedings had begun but did not specify the number of suspects or the possible classification of the offences. One YLE News source said that this investigation may also concern Tammi, but the media outlet did not receive a second confirmation.

Procurement cases in court
The Helsinki District Court is also considering a case concerning procurements at state educational institutions. According to the prosecution, procurements worth hundreds of thousands of euros were carried out in violation of public procurement legislation.
In this case, former head of the state child protection unit Kaisa Lepola and former development director of state educational institutions Jani Meling are charged with offences in office. Both deny guilt. Meling filed a crime report concerning Tammi; earlier, Tammi decided to suspend him from his position because of suspicions concerning him.
