Valmet Automotive plant in Finland begins producing buses
Production of diesel and electric buses has begun at the Valmet Automotive plant in Uusikaupunki, Finland. The first buses are expected to be ready by the end of this year, and production is planned to be gradually ramped up from the beginning of next year, YLE News reports.
Company cooperation
Valmet Automotive Oyj and Carrus Delta Oy announced back in April the start of long-term cooperation on the serial production of buses at the Uusikaupunki plant. The production process has now begun at the facility.

Division of work
According to Valmet Automotive, the company will be responsible for manufacturing bus bodies, painting, and final assembly. Carrus Delta designs and manufactures buses for Volvo Buses.
Valmet Automotive said that output volumes will increase in stages. The company also reported that the first vehicles are expected to leave the plant this year.
