Three suspects detained in Ghana for aiding Dutch fugitive
Ghana’s Narcotics Control Commission (NACOC) has detained three individuals suspected of representing and facilitating the activities of Dutch fugitive Jos Leijdekkers, known as Bolle Jos. MyJoyOnline reports, citing a statement from the agency.
Investigation continues
NACOC stated that the three suspects are in the commission’s custody and are cooperating with the investigation. Law enforcement officers are establishing their possible role in a drug trafficking operation.
The statement was signed by NACOC Acting Director for Public Affairs and International Relations Francis Opoku Amoah. According to the commission, the detentions followed a report that French customs had seized a shipment of cocaine reportedly linked to a broader drug trafficking network.

NACOC’s position
NACOC called the detentions part of efforts to counter international drug trafficking networks and prevent Ghana from being used as a base for their activities. The commission stated that it would continue cooperating with national and international law enforcement partners to counter the people, finances and infrastructure that support illicit drug trafficking.
The agency also assured that the rights and legal guarantees of all individuals subject to investigative actions would be observed during the investigation.
