Cinemas in St. Petersburg are showing a movie about Kolobok all day long
Cinemas in St. Petersburg continue to screen the Russian film *The Last Bogatyr: Kolobok*, despite extremely low audience interest. This is reported by the publication *Rotonda*.
According to journalists, on Friday, August 7, there were at least five screenings of the film in the city’s movie theaters for which not a single ticket was sold. On Sunday, August 9, 20 theaters remained empty.
On Monday, August 10, the situation remained virtually unchanged. In the morning, not a single seat was occupied in 28 theaters.
At the same time, movie theaters continue to schedule screenings throughout the day. For example, the “Cinema Park Grand Canyon” theater on Prosvishcheniya Avenue had 26 screenings scheduled from morning to evening.
According to a source from a major cinema chain interviewed by the publication, theaters are not canceling even completely empty screenings for fear of losing access to other popular Russian films.
“The theaters are empty, but the screenings aren’t being canceled because movie theaters are afraid that distributors won’t provide enough copies of *Prostokvashino* and *Cheburashka* afterward, and that would mean significant financial losses,” the source said.
According to him, distributors had counted on the film’s success at the box office, but those expectations were not met. After ticket sales plummeted, they began organizing special screenings featuring the actors, although such events are usually held before a film’s release.
As a reminder, street lighting in Crimea will be reduced due to the energy crisis.
Russian troops have intensified their offensive operations in the direction of Hryshyne, where they are conducting assaults involving infantry and motorcycles. According to DeepState, the occupiers are also attempting to infiltrate the areas around Vasylivka and Novooleksandrivka.
