A crater was discovered in Moldova after a Russian drone crashed
In Moldova, police experts conducted a visual inspection of a drone that crashed and exploded near the village of Talmaza in the Ștefan Vodă District.
The crash site was found in a cornfield.
Specialists from the technical unit and the explosive ordnance disposal unit determined that the crash created a crater approximately 2 meters in diameter and about 50 centimeters deep.
The shock wave spread over an area of about 45 × 20 meters. At the scene, law enforcement officers found numerous fragments of the aircraft, including components of the flight control system and the power plant with a turbojet engine.
Fragments of the fuselage and damaged electronic modules were also found, which likely belonged to the drone’s control system.
Moldovan police noted that a preliminary analysis of the debris suggests it resembles components used in rocket-type drones equipped with a turbojet power plant.
“Preliminary analysis indicates that the components found at the scene bear a resemblance to those used in rocket-type unmanned aerial vehicles equipped with a turbojet power plant,” law enforcement officials emphasized.

At the same time, it is currently impossible to definitively determine the type of unmanned aerial vehicle. There is insufficient information regarding its technical and tactical parameters, and no specific identification marks were found on the debris.
Moving forward, experts will conduct additional forensic analyses and specialized investigations to determine the type of drone, its technical specifications, and all the circumstances of the incident.
This was reported by the Moldovan police on Facebook.
As a reminder, Russian forces launched a massive strike on the Odesa region for the second day in a row, using missiles and drones. During the attack, one of the Russian “Banderol” missiles crossed Ukraine’s state border and entered Moldovan territory.
Moldovan President Maia Sandu believes that some Russian drones enter the country’s airspace accidentally. At the same time, she said, Russia may be deliberately directing some drones toward Moldova.
