The Foreign Ministry explained why Navrotsky was not invited to the Conference on Ukraine's Recovery

Domestic politics were the reason Polish President Karol Nawrocki was not invited to the Conference on Ukraine’s Recovery, which will take place in Gdańsk.

Georgiy Tykhyi, a spokesperson for the Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, made this statement during a televised marathon.

As Tykhyi noted, due to the conflict between Poland and Ukraine, the circumstances surrounding the conference have become very unfavorable.

According to him, Nawrocki complained to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy that he had not been invited to the event.

“This is an event organized by Prime Minister Donald Tusk. In other words, we are once again seeing this political dimension that currently exists in Poland,” he noted.

Separately, the Foreign Ministry spokesperson emphasized that this year’s conference will focus on security and defense. The discussion will not be limited to allocating funds and loans for reconstruction, but will also address how to defend Ukraine so that fewer facilities need to be rebuilt.

It is worth noting that the Conference on Ukraine’s Recovery is scheduled for June 25–26.

As a reminder, Marcin Przydacz, head of the Polish President’s Office for International Policy, stated that the Ukrainian side had canceled the planned meetings between President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Poland’s newly elected President Karol Nawrocki.

Former Ukrainian Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman announced that he had returned the Knight’s Cross of the Order of Merit of the Republic of Poland, which he received in 2011 for promoting regional cooperation between Ukrainian and Polish cities.

On June 20, former Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko also announced that he was renouncing the Polish state order, emphasizing that this step was not directed against the Polish people; at the same time, he also made some critical remarks about incumbent President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
