Three dogs attack technician installing MTN equipment in Nigeria

In Benin City, the capital of Nigeria’s Edo State, three dogs attacked technician Ajani Taiwo while he was installing MTN network equipment. The man was taken to hospital with injuries, including a head wound.

Incident near police station

As Premium Times Nigeria reports, the incident occurred on Thursday in the Okhoro area. Taiwo arrived at a site behind a police station to install equipment for the MTN operator.

According to the publication’s sources, at about 3:00 p.m., the technician contacted the employee responsible for the site’s power supply to gain access. Shortly after the entrance was opened, three dogs attacked Taiwo.

Police report detention

The victim’s cries were heard by neighbours, who joined efforts to rescue him. According to the publication, the animals’ owner, identified as Uganlunen Sandra, intervened in the situation.

Edo State police spokesperson Eno Ikoedem confirmed that, following an official complaint from the victim, the dogs’ owner was detained. According to her, police have launched an investigation into the circumstances of the attack. Ikoedem urged dog owners and breeders to properly control their animals to prevent attacks on people.
