Air raid alerts were issued twice in one day in Romania

On Sunday, August 2, air raid sirens were sounded for the civilian population in eastern Romania for the second time that day. The Ministry of Defense’s radar surveillance system detected an aerial target near the river border with Ukraine at 3:09 p.m.

To control the airspace and monitor the situation, two F-16 fighter jets of the Romanian Air Force were scrambled at 3:17 p.m. The General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations sent out RO-Alert emergency notifications to residents of Tulcea County, urging them to follow safety precautions. The first such incident involving a confirmed threat in the Romanian border area occurred earlier that same day at approximately 9:30 a.m.

On the evening of July 31, Romanian authorities issued an emergency alert for residents of the northern part of Tulcea County after drones were detected near the Ukrainian border. Two F-16 fighter jets were scrambled to monitor the situation.

In Poland, during a massive Russian missile attack on Ukraine on the night of July 30, an air raid alert was issued in part of the Lublin Voivodeship. After the alert ended, a crater about 10 meters in diameter and debris from an unidentified object were discovered in a field near the villages of Tarnava-Kolonia and Tokary.
