In Saxony-Anhalt, calls have been made for the CDU/CSU to put an end to internal disputes over personnel appointments ahead of the election
Sven Schulze, the prime minister of the German state of Saxony-Anhalt, called on the CDU/CSU governing coalition to conclude personnel discussions at the federal level as soon as possible, so that they do not interfere with the campaign ahead of the state parliamentary elections. Voting in Saxony-Anhalt is scheduled for September 6.
According to Spiegel, as reported by “European Truth,” an Insa poll shows the far-right party “Alternative for Germany” with 41% support, while the CDU stands at 24%. It is believed that the AfD could win a majority in the state parliament.
Schulze stated that due to political personnel disputes at the federal level, it is “truly almost impossible for local politicians to focus on regional issues while standing at the campaign tent.” He insists that personnel reshuffles and the discussions surrounding them must be finally resolved by Monday.
