Seoul to waive parking fees at 61 sites during Chuseok
In Seoul, South Korea, parking fees will be waived at 61 public parking lots near tourist attractions and commercial districts during the four-day Chuseok holiday. As reported by The Korea Herald, free parking will be available around the clock from September 24 to 27.

The areas where these parking lots are located include Jongmyo Shrine, Euljiro, Yeouido, and the vicinity of Cheonho and Sadang stations. According to Seoul Facilities Corp., the corporation will also introduce special measures for visitors to city cemeteries and cremation facilities.
More than 170,000 people are expected to visit 16 cemeteries and cremation facilities managed by the city during the holiday. About 300 staff members and 200 traffic controllers will be deployed to assist visitors and reduce congestion.

Traffic near cemeteries
Free shuttle buses will operate throughout all four holiday days at Yongmiri Municipal Cemetery in Paju, Gyeonggi Province. They will run from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
The corporation will also provide an hourly congestion forecast for the holiday period on the city expressway website. It will use data on traffic volume and speed from the previous five Chuseok holidays; the forecast will cover city expressways and major arterial roads.
A new KakaoTalk channel will provide information on grave locations, routes, and cemetery management notices. Authorities will also inspect 12 major routes, including Olympic-daero, Gangbyeonbuk-ro, the Dongbu Expressway and the Seobu Expressway, and will work with emergency response teams during the holiday.
