F-16 intercepts aircraft near Camp David in the US — Anadolu Agency
In the United States, a NORAD F-16 fighter jet intercepted a general aviation aircraft that entered restricted airspace over Thurmont, Maryland, on Saturday morning. The incident occurred near Camp David, where US President Donald Trump was staying at the time.
Interception over Maryland
As Anadolu Agency reports, the interception occurred at approximately 7:50 a.m. Eastern Daylight Time, or 11:50 GMT. The 1st Air Force, which is part of US Northern Command, said this.
During the interception, the F-16 deployed flares that may have been visible to people on the ground. The statement said they were used to draw the pilot’s attention or signal the aircraft. According to the military, the flares posed no danger to people on the ground.

Aircraft escorted out of the zone
The aircraft was safely escorted out of the restricted airspace by a NORAD aircraft. Trump arrived at the presidential retreat in Maryland’s Catoctin Mountains on Friday evening and, according to a source, was expected to remain there throughout the weekend.
The statement did not indicate that the aircraft posed a threat to Trump or Camp David.
