Turkey has commented on the future of Russia's S-400s

The Turkish Ministry of Defense stated that it is continuing to work on the issue of the Russian S-400 air defense missile systems. Ankara is seeking a solution that could remove one of the main obstacles to the country’s return to the U.S. F-35 fighter jet program.

At the same time, the Turkish defense ministry refrained from confirming reports that Ankara is seeking to sell or transfer the system to pave the way for its return to the U.S. F-35 fighter jet program.

“Multifaceted efforts are underway regarding the S-400 long-range regional air and missile defense systems. Specific results will be communicated to the public as they become available,” the Turkish Ministry of Defense stated, according to Turkish Minute.

As a reminder, a Russian missile alarmed Turkey ahead of the NATO summit.

Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan stated that Ankara does not want the war to spread to the Black Sea. According to him, security in this region is extremely important, and attacks on civilian ships, ports, and tankers are unacceptable.
