In Zhytomyr, the case of the head of a heat supply company, who is accused of publicly justifying Russian aggression and making offensive remarks about Ukrainians, has been referred to court. According to investigators, he repeatedly made anti-Ukrainian statements while communicating with his subordinates.

In Zhytomyr, a court will hear the case of a local businessman who heads a heating company and is charged with publicly justifying Russia’s armed aggression against Ukraine. The indictment has already been sent to the court, and investigators claim that his remarks went far beyond private opinions and were made directly at work, among employees.

According to the prosecutor’s office, during conversations with subordinates, the man used harsh and humiliating language, denied Ukraine’s right to statehood, blamed the destruction caused by Russian attacks on the Ukrainian military, and referred to citizens as “biomass.” An expert analysis by the Kyiv Scientific Research Institute of Forensic Expertise’s Vinnytsia branch confirmed that such statements bear the hallmarks of justifying the Russian Federation’s armed aggression.

The investigation also established that the suspect was exposed during the investigation of another case—regarding possible multimillion-dollar losses to the state during the supply of heat to correctional facilities. The investigation is being conducted by the State Bureau of Investigations in Zhytomyr.

The SBI notes that the company’s director allegedly not only expressed pro-Russian views but also spoke negatively about the Revolution of Dignity and discussed “reunification” with the aggressor state. During the investigation, according to law enforcement officials, his support for Russia’s policies and Vladimir Putin was also documented.

After being notified of the charges, the man did not admit guilt and claimed that his words had allegedly been misunderstood. The case involves the head of Alterenergo Ltd., a company registered in Zhytomyr, whose co-founders are Ihor Chibisov and Andriy Belyi. The penalty under this article provides for up to three years of imprisonment. This was reported by Zhytomyr.info.
