Ukrainian weapons are more effective than TAURUS — Merz
Ukraine is already producing its own long-range weapons, which are more effective than the limited number of TAURUS missiles that Germany could provide.
German Chancellor Friedrich Merz made this statement during a speech in the Bundestag.
According to him, Ukraine is developing some of these weapons with Germany’s support, and is currently “better armed than ever before.”
Merz emphasized that the key problem today is not a shortage of weapons, but funding. He said it is necessary to secure resources to continue weapons production.
The chancellor also commented on Hungary’s blocking of a €90 billion EU loan for Ukraine. He called the situation unprecedented, stressing that the European Union cannot act effectively when one country systematically imposes a veto.
Earlier, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz stated that Berlin aims to make the Bundeswehr the strongest conventional army in Europe as soon as possible, capable of withstanding any challenge.
