Estonian Riigikogu MP Kristo Enn Vaga hospitalized during broadcast
In Estonia, Kristo Enn Vaga, a Reform Party member of the Riigikogu, became unwell during a live television program and was subsequently taken to hospital. The politician was discharged overnight after examinations and allowed to return home, ERR News reports.
Incident on air
The incident occurred on Wednesday evening at around the 11th minute of the live broadcast of the program “Esimene stuudio,” dedicated to defense spending. Vaga sat down, although he had previously been standing, and began speaking more slowly. A few minutes later, he left the studio.
Host Andres Kuusk informed viewers about the medical emergency on air and said that they would try to continue the program. ETV’s editor-in-chief for socio-political content, Peep Kala, said that after an examination by paramedics, the MP was taken to the emergency department for additional tests.

Reform Party representative Sander Andla told ERR that Vaga was discharged from hospital overnight after undergoing examinations. Kristo Enn Vaga also serves as the Reform Party’s secretary general.
During the debate after Vaga’s departure, Peeter Tali of Eesti 200 was the only representative of the governing coalition remaining, while leaders of four opposition parties took part in the program. Peep Kala noted that due to the medical situation, the Reform Party was unable to respond to the opposition’s criticism, so the television channel is considering giving it the right to present counterarguments.
