Sections of Route 10 in Israel to open for holiday hiking

The Israel Defense Forces announced the opening of certain sections of Route 10 in the Paran Regional Brigade sector near the country’s western border to visitors. Access to the route will be provided during designated hours over the Rosh Hashanah and Sukkot holidays.

As The Jerusalem Post reports, on Rosh Hashanah, the section between Ezuz and Mount Har Harif will be open on Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The section from the Bar-Lev lookout point to checkpoint 10/12 will be accessible on Saturday and Sunday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Sukkot schedule

On September 25, the section between Ezuz and Mount Har Harif will be open to visitors from 8:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The area from the Bar-Lev lookout point to checkpoint 10/12 will be available from September 26 through October 3, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Entry requirements and restrictions

To use the routes, visitors must present identification and register at the entrance. No prior coordination of the visit is required.

At the same time, the Israeli military stressed that training exercises will continue over the weekend in live-fire zones in the south and north of the country. These areas will remain closed to visitors. Citizens were urged not to enter restricted areas so as not to interfere with the work of security forces.
